Innovasjon Norge-funded project aims to boost transparency and sustainability in fast-growing market
Norwegian companies Digitread Connect, Arctic Seaweed AS, Gagn IoT, and the Norwegian Seaweed Association have teamed up to create a digital traceability platform for the seaweed and kelp industry.
The seaweed and kelp industry has the potential to become a major player in the global food and agriculture market, with a wide range of applications including food, animal feed, biotechnology, and cosmetics. The traceability platform will ensure full transparency throughout the entire process, from hatcheries to cultivation in the sea, harvest, distribution, and end use.
"This is a very exciting project for us which will set a new benchmark far beyond the seaweed and kelp industry," says Christoffer Lange, CEO of Digitread Connect. "We're looking forward to contributing with our IoT platform."
Harald Lamborg, CEO of Keeptrack AS, adds: "Digitread Connect's focus on industrial IoT and cutting-edge expertise in software development, cloud technologies, data analytics, and industrial processes ensure that we get a robust and forward-looking technological platform for the venture."
The project, which has been funded by Innovasjon Norge, will be commercialized by Keeptrack AS.
